      Connect your social media - Instagram

      How to connect your Instagram account to your Bodyguard dashboard

      Follow the steps below to connect one or more Instagram Pages to your dashboard

      Prerequisite

      • We can only protect businesses or creator accounts. To understand businesses or creator accounts please check this article. We will explain you below how to manage this topic.
      • The Instagram account has to be linked to a Facebook Page.

      Part 1 : Make sure you have a Business Account

      If you already have a Business Account, please skip to Part 2.

      On Instagram, you can convert your personal profile to a business account, please follow the steps below :
      1. Go to your profile and tap Menu in the top right-hand corner.
      2. Tap  Settings.
        • For some accounts, the Switch to professional account option will be listed directly under  Settings.
      3. Tap Account.
      4. Tap Switch to professional account.
      5. Tap Continue.
      6. Select a category for your business and tap Done.
      7. Tap OK to confirm.
      8. Tap Business.
      9. Tap Next.
      10. Add contact details and tap Next. Or tap Don't use my contact info to skip this step.
      11. Tap X in the top-right corner to return to your profile.

      Part 2 : Make sure your Business Account is connected to a Facebook Page

      If your Business Account is already connected to a Facebook Page,
      please skip to Part 3.

      Option 1 : Connect a Facebook Page to your Instagram business account from Instagram

      Before you begin, your personal Facebook account must have an admin role on the Page that you'd like to connect to. If the Page isn't in the drop-down on your Instagram profile, check your Page's settings on Facebook to determine whether you have an admin role.

      1. Go to your Instagram profile.
      2. Select Edit profile.
      3. Under Public business information, Select Page.
      4. Tap Create Facebook Page or Connect an existing Page.
      5. Choose a Page from your Pages that you'd like to connect to or select Create a new Facebook Page.
      6. Tap Done after you've selected a Page or created a new Page.

      Option 2 : Connect your Instagram business account to your Facebook Page from Facebook

      1. Open your Facebook Page.
      2. Select Settings from the left menu.
      3. Select Instagram.
      4. To add an Instagram account to your Page, select Connect account. Make sure that the "Allow access to Instagram messages in Inbox" is toggled on and then click Continue. Enter your Instagram account's username and password, and select Log in.

      Part 3 : Connect your Instagram Account to your dashboard

      1. Go to the Bodyguard Dashboard and log in with your credentials.

       

      2. Click on 'Settings'.

       

      3. In the menu, select Sources.

      4.

      Option 1 : you perform the connection. Click on the connection button.

       

      Option 2 : someone else performs the connection. 

      Click on the button below, and share the copied link to the person who will connect the source.

       

      Both actions will open a new secured tab on the Facebook website.

       

      5. Click on Continue As ...

      6. Select all the Instagram Business Accounts you wish to connect to Bodyguard.ai
      then click Next.

      7. Select the Pages linked to your Instagram Business accounts to connect to Bodyguard.ai
      then click Next.

      8. Make sure all permissions are activated so Bodyguard.ai can protect your accounts
      then click Finish.

      9. Confirm by clicking on OK.

      10. Select the first Instagram Account you wish to protect.

      Note

      If you only have one Facebook Page you need to protect, you have successfully connected your Facebook Page to Bodyguard.ai.

      Congratulations! You and your community are now protected by our technology.

       

      If you have other Facebook Pages that are still not connected, please continue reading.

       

      11. To connect another page, go back to Settings > Sources and select Connect source.

      12. Click on Continue As ...

      13. Select the second Instagram Account you wish to protect.

      14. Both your accounts are now protected!

      You can be sure they are protected because both protection toggles are activated.

      Tip

      To connect more than two Instagram Business Accounts,
      please select all the Accounts you wish to protect in Step 6, then repeat Steps 11 to 14 to connect each Account to its Source
