Massive Spam detection

Bodyguard is also fighting Massive Spam contents

Massive Spam is a set of unwanted and similar comments sent repeatedly by the same person over a very short period of time. These are often Bots.

The Massive Spam detection technology is not the same as the moderation one. Please find bellow the rules on wich it is based. 

 

The default rules set are:

  • Detection of “short burst”
    • If an author has sent more than 5 messages in the last 3 seconds, then all of these messages will be flagged as SPAM
  • Detection of “burst”
    • If an author has sent more than 20 messages in the last 10 seconds, then all of these messages will be flagged as SPAM
  • Detection of “similarity”
    • In the last 5 minutes, the author must have:
      • sent more than 5 messages in the last 5 minutes
      • have at least half of his messages that have a similarity of 80% or more
